M7 Health Secures a $4M Seed Round to Modernize Nursing Workforce Management
M7 Health is on a mission to make nursing jobs work for nurses.
M7 Health has successfully closed a $4 million seed round led by First Round Capital, with participation from existing investors like 25M Health, Lakehouse Ventures, Banter Capital, January Ventures, and a distinguished group of angel investors. M7 Health aims to revolutionize nursing workforce management by creating an innovative platform that enhances work-life balance, drives retention, and fosters career fulfillment for nurses, while delivering operational efficiencies and cost savings for healthcare systems. The company was founded by Ilana Borkenstein, a former nurse and Eric Gruskin, an MBA graduate. They recognized the unsustainable strain on the nursing profession during the COVID-19 pandemic and set out to create a solution that directly addresses the challenges of nurse scheduling and staffing.
M7 Health’s platform, built with input from nurses across the country, simplifies the complex task of staffing by optimizing schedules based on nurse preferences, enhancing shift coverage, and providing decision support tools for nursing supervisors. The results speak for themselves: 99% of staff log into M7 monthly, managers save over 20 hours per scheduling cycle, and hospitals have reported significant reductions in overtime and labor costs. Since its first launch in September 2023, M7 Health has expanded to eight hospitals nationwide, delivering impressive results and earning rave reviews from nurses and executives alike. M7 Health’s impact is evident in improved nurse satisfaction, reduced administrative burden, and meaningful cost savings, making it a valuable partner in the ongoing effort to stabilize and support the nursing workforce.
