HIVED Secures $42M to Take On UK Delivery Giants with AI and Electric Fleets
HIVED is a UK-based parcel delivery company operating a fully electric fleet, offering timely delivery services with a focus on sustainability and customer satisfaction.
London-based parcel delivery startup HIVED has raised $42 million in a round led by NordicNinja to scale its AI-powered logistics platform. Co-founded by Murvah Iqbal and Mathias Krieger, HIVED has grown rapidly across Greater London, winning clients like Zara, Uniqlo, and John Lewis. Iqbal, a former Manchester City youth captain, and Krieger, a serial founder, are betting on AI and operational precision—not just green credentials—to deliver a superior last-mile experience.
From Football Pitches to Parcel Hubs
Iqbal brings a unique background to logistics, having led her family’s fast-food chain marketing before co-founding HIVED in 2021. With her co-founder Krieger, the team built an end-to-end delivery service that owns its vans, trains its drivers, and develops its own routing software. Unlike traditional courier services that rely on generic navigation tools, HIVED uses custom-built algorithms to analyze micro-level delivery data. “Google Maps only takes you so far,” says Iqbal. “We’re collecting loads of data to understand which is the best path for a delivery driver to go.”
Why It’s Not Just About Being Green
Though HIVED exclusively operates a fleet of electric vehicles, sustainability isn’t its lead pitch. “If we’re building a network that’s going to exist for the next hundreds of years, it has to default be electric,” Iqbal explains, “but you only win customers by having a superior product.” That product is driven by AI—forecasting driver needs block-by-block and routing more efficiently than legacy players. Revenues have reportedly grown 300% year over year, though exact figures remain undisclosed.
With support from new investors like Wex Venture Capital, Yamato Holdings, and Bain & Co’s Future Back Ventures, HIVED plans to expand into cities across southern England and grow its data and commercial teams. In a country where parcel delivery is often synonymous with frustration, HIVED is positioning itself as a tech-forward alternative that’s quietly rewriting the rules.
