Founders Everywhere: Marty Ringlein
Marty Ringlein is the co-founder and CEO of Agree.com, a Saas company that offers free e-signature and revenue automation.
Welcome to Founders Everywhere, where we highlight the incredible people behind the companies we’ve backed at Everywhere Ventures, a global pre-seed fund supported by a community of 500 founders and operators.
E-signatures have become the linchpin—or should we say linchpen—of finalizing agreements, making transactions faster and more convenient than ever before. But even after signing and hitting finish, it’s hard to shake that lingering thought, “Is this really done?” For agreements that require payments, there’s a gap in how e-signature platforms operate—they imply a deal is done just because it’s signed, even though it’s not actually complete until the money hits. Agree.com is filling that gap by providing an AI-powered solution that integrates free e-signatures, automated invoicing, and payments into a seamless, secure process. It’s a versatile platform that everyone can use for any kind of contract. Next time you need an e-signature, say “Let’s Agree.”
Co-founders Marty Ringlein and Will Hubbard are seasoned entrepreneurs and investors, who are dedicated to identifying problems that require innovative solutions. They became frustrated with the post-signature steps on platforms like DocuSign and realized it was a fintech issue, rather than a problem with e-signatures. They began exploring solutions and with the advancement of AI, they decided to put their entrepreneurial skills to work once again.. They teamed up with Evan Dudla, an experienced founder and software engineer to develop a comprehensive solution that integrates free e-signatures, invoicing, and payment processing into a seamless and efficient platform. Marty, the CEO, shares more about Agree.com and how they’re writing a new playbook for e-signatures, contracts, and agreements.
Let's agree, to Agree!
What is Agree.com’s North Star?
Our mission is to achieve what we call "signature velocity," which means going from signing a contract to fully completing the transaction as fast as possible while ensuring security and compliance. We aim to be an all-in-one platform that handles everything from reviewing and editing contracts to signing and payment. We want to be the preferred choice for anyone who transacts over contracts, whether it’s for simple NDAs or large-scale business agreements.
Tell us about some recent milestones Agree.com crushed.
We just launched our free e-signature tool and announced our $3 million pre-seed round to expand the platform’s features and grow our engineering and product teams. We are also preparing to introduce an enterprise solution by the end of the year, featuring accounts receivable automation, ERP and CRM integrations, and an API for customizable workflows.
What have been some of the greatest challenges founding Agree.com?
Overcoming the complexities of AI and OCR (Optical Character Recognition) for accurate contract parsing. This isn’t just about reading text; it’s about capturing every detail, like decimals, commas, hyphens and formatting. Initially, we hit only about 60% accuracy and understood why this hasn’t been done before, because it’s extremely difficult. We kept trying to crack it and succeeded in parsing 100% of the important things like the specifics of the contract and payment details. Right now we're focused on perfecting the last 5% of simple styling and formatting.
How has your background influenced you as a founder?
I started as a computer science undergrad but quickly moved into design, which has always been an advantage for me. I would never call myself a technical founder, but I’m technical enough that we can move much faster because I can have much more strategic conversations with the engineering team.
Any favorite books you recommend?
I recommend the book Thinking in Bets by Annie Duke, which is a fantastic business book with insights from poker. Another favorite is Algorithms to Live By, which, despite its computer science focus, is very accessible and offers real-life examples that change how you see the world.
Fun fact: Will and I are adjunct professors at Northwestern University. We teach a master's program in product development.
