Switchboard Secures $1.5M (AUS) for Supply Chain Integration and Digitization
Switchboard is a cloud integration platform that lets you integrate and exchange data with any supply chain system.
Switchboard, a supply chain integration platform, has successfully raised $1.5 million (AUS) from a consortium of early-stage VCs, including Archangel, AfterWork, Investible, Skalata, Startmate, TEN13, and Everywhere Ventures. Founded by Hugh Dixson in August 2022, Switchboard aims to digitize logistics. Dixson's extensive background in supply chain management, with experience at road freight backfill startup Ofload, Uber, and Boston Consulting Group, provided him with firsthand insight into the challenges of outdated systems in supply chain data storage. Dixson highlighted the lag in the supply chain industry’s digital adaptation compared to other sectors, despite the pandemic-driven push for digitization.
Switchboard addresses a significant market gap by making IT system integration accessible to small and mid-sized players, who are often priced out by high costs. The platform focuses on truckload optimization, reducing costs per consignment and staffing, and providing precise demand forecasts. By automating communication among customers, suppliers, logistics providers, and other trading partners, Switchboard enhances operational efficiency. Dixson envisions the platform becoming the "system of record" for the global supply chain, leveraging proprietary data to develop new products. With rapid traction in the manufacturing, retail, and food & beverage sectors, and strong support from investors like Skalata’s Tom Smalley, Switchboard is poised to expand its global presence and customer base.
