Satim, a Krakow-based AI technology company, has successfully secured funding in an undisclosed internal round, led by Balnord and supported by notable investors such as Cultivation Capital, Verissimo Ventures, and Techstars. The funds will be directed towards enhancing its AI-augmented Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) solutions, reinforcing its ambition to emerge as a global leader in the sector. Under the leadership of CEO Jacek Strzelczyk and CTO Stanislawa Porzycka-Strzelczyk, Satim focuses on object detection and classification through advanced SAR satellite imagery, delivering tailored solutions across military, government, and commercial markets.
Since its inception, Satim has forged strong partnerships, notably with the European Space Agency, securing €1.5 million in non-dilutive grants to refine its algorithms for SAR data information extraction. The company's participation in prestigious accelerators like Space3ac and Techstars Starburst Space Accelerator has significantly shaped its strategic direction and technological accuracy. Today, with a team comprised of data scientists, remote sensing experts, and ex-military personnel, Satim’s AI-driven software boasts a 90% accuracy rate in transforming complex satellite data into actionable insights. Recently recognized as a Certified Analytics Partner of Capella Space, the company has also expanded its vessel classification capabilities from 28 to 110 classes while launching new detection models for aircraft and vehicles, solidifying its market leadership.
