Khyaal, an Online Platform for Senior Citizen Wellness, Secures $4.2M in Seed Funding
Khyaal is a digital platform for senior citizens to engage, learn and have fun!
Khyaal, an innovative online platform dedicated to enhancing the well-being of senior citizens in India, has successfully secured $4.2 million in its seed funding round. Spearheaded by prominent investors including Inventus Capital led by Kanwal Rekhi and SVQuad, alongside participation from influential figures such as Transcarent CEO Glen Tullman, this investment underscores the growing recognition of the potential within the senior care sector. With existing backers like Everywhere Ventures, Supermorpheus, and Unpopular Ventures also reaffirming their commitment, Khyaal is poised for significant growth and impact.
Despite India's youthful demographic profile, the nation also boasts a substantial aging population, with nearly 10.5% of its populace aged 60 and above. This demographic trend presents a substantial opportunity for specialized senior care startups like Khyaal, which offers a comprehensive suite of services tailored to meet the unique needs of seniors. Co-founded by Hemanshu Jain and Pritish Nelleri amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Khyaal strives to foster a supportive community for seniors, providing digital literacy training, engaging entertainment content, financial services, and personalized assistance, all aimed at enhancing their physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being. With a user base already surpassing one million seniors, Khyaal is well-positioned to expand its reach and deepen its impact, guided by a mission to empower and enrich the lives of older adults across India and beyond.
