Singapore-based startup k-ID has secured $45 million in Series A funding to enhance online gaming safety and privacy for game developers, parents, and young players. The funding round, led by Andreessen Horowitz and Lightspeed Venture Partners, included contributions from Konvoy, Tirta, Okta, and Z Venture Capital. This brings k-ID's total funding to $51 million within just nine months, highlighting significant industry support. k-ID's innovative cross-platform, single sign-on solution addresses complex privacy and safety challenges globally, earning it recognition as a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer for 2024.
k-ID's rapid growth and traction have attracted major game publishers, integrating their technology to safeguard hundreds of millions of young gamers worldwide. CEO and co-founder Kieran Donovan emphasizes the company's mission to create privacy-preserving, youth-first technology, streamlining regulatory complexities for developers. Other co-founders include Timothy Ma, Jeff Wu, and Julian Corbett. The startup's impressive team, with backgrounds at Meta, Tencent, and Google, is poised to revolutionize digital youth safety. k-ID's recent partnership with the ESRB Privacy Certified program further solidifies its commitment to industry standards, promising a safer online environment for the next generation.
