EngFlow and tipi.build Launch Innovative Remote CMake Build Execution Service for C and C++ Code
EngFlow is the build and test acceleration company that keeps engineers in flow.
EngFlow, a well-funded build acceleration startup led by CEO Helen Altshuler and CTO Ulf Adams, has invested in tipi.build to extend its services into the realm of CMake, the standard for building C++ code. The partnership between EngFlow and tipi now offers a remote build service, CMake RE, that combines tipi's advanced caching and code parsing capabilities with EngFlow's expertise in cloud-based, distributed builds. This service aims to dramatically accelerate the compilation process, reducing the time it takes to compile a large codebase on an individual developer's laptop by approximately 10 times. The two companies have been working closely to enhance build efficiency and provide developers with a more productive experience.
The collaboration between EngFlow and tipi, though not disclosed in terms of investment size, has emerged as a solution to address the time-consuming process of compiling C and C++ codebases. Their joint effort is set to make CMake-based builds more efficient and competitive with existing remote execution-based build systems, offering a promising development for millions of developers using CMake.
