Elektra Health Secured $3.3M in Seed Funding for its Virtual Menopause Care Services.
Elektra Health is a next-gen healthcare platform on a mission to smash the menopause taboo.
Elektra Health, a telehealth provider focused on menopause care, has secured $3.3 million in seed extension funding, bringing its total seed funding to $7.6 million. Led by UPMC Enterprises, this round saw participation from new investor Wavemaker 360 and existing backers Flare Capital Partners and Seven Seven Six Fund. Notably, UPMC's Kathryn Heffernan and Wavemaker's Monica Jain will join Elektra's board of directors. The funding will primarily support the expansion of Elektra's executive team and the growth of its clinical services. Led by co-founders Alessandra Henderson and Jannine Versi, Elektra Health's approach combines telehealth consultations, coaching, educational resources, and private peer support via a member platform, catering to the often-neglected area of menopause care.
Menopause care is gaining increased attention due to growing awareness of its significant impact on women's overall health. Despite a lack of training in menopause within many OB-GYN residency programs, evidence highlights the link between this life stage and chronic illnesses like heart disease and osteoporosis. Elektra Health's funding success reflects a broader trend in the VC-backed women's health sector, which continues to see investment despite challenging macroeconomic conditions. With ongoing developments and investments in women's health technology, Elektra Health and its peers are poised to address crucial gaps in care and empower women throughout various stages of their reproductive journeys.
