Dapple Security Secures $2.3M in Pre-Seed Funding for Innovative Digital Identity and Passwordless Authentication Solution
Dapple is committed to creating cutting-edge technology utilizing responsible biometrics and privacy by design principles to protect human digital identity and defend against phishing attacks.
Denver-based startup Dapple Security has successfully raised $2.3 million in its pre-seed funding round, with a focus on pioneering passwordless login solutions using biometrics. The company, led by co-founder Gadalia Montoya Weinberg O’Bryan, a former crypto mathematician at the National Security Agency, offers a unique approach to authentication by leveraging users' biometrics like fingerprints or voice to create a digital "lock and key." Unlike traditional methods, Dapple securely stores the digital lock in the cloud, enabling users to access their accounts with a single passkey across multiple devices. This innovation addresses the vulnerability of small and mid-sized businesses to cyber attacks, as they often lack robust cybersecurity infrastructure.
Dapple plans to launch its passkey into beta testing by the summer, with a commercial release slated for the fall. The startup has garnered attention from investors, including a $500,000 contribution from an angel investor and a significant $1.85 million led by First In, a firm supporting military veterans and former intelligence professionals. Dapple has been recognized as a cybersecurity startup to watch in 2023 by CSO Online and is a member of the FIDO Alliance, showcasing its commitment to providing secure and privacy-focused solutions to combat the rising threats associated with traditional password systems.
