Aerodome Acquired by Flock Safety to Expand Drone-Based Law Enforcement Solutions
Flock Safety has acquired Aerodome in what has become one of the largest acquisitions in public safety to date.
Flock Safety has expanded its footprint in law enforcement technology with the acquisition of Aerodome, a leading provider of Drone as First Responder (DFR) technology. The move marks Flock's entry into drone-based solutions, enhancing its existing platform, which includes license plate recognition cameras, gunshot detection sensors, and real-time crime center software. Aerodome’s DFR tech allows law enforcement agencies to quickly deploy drones during critical incidents, delivering real-time intelligence and boosting situational awareness. The acquisition underscores Flock Safety's mission to transform public safety and reduce crime through cutting-edge technology.
The deal also accelerates Flock Safety’s plans to introduce a line of American-made drones compliant with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). These drones, expected to launch within the next 12 months, will include advanced features like automated battery-swapping docking stations and aircraft avoidance capabilities, enabling safer, long-range operations without human oversight. Aerodome’s co-founder Rahul Sidhu will join Flock as VP of Aviation, aiming to accelerate the adoption of DFR technology across public safety, ultimately improving emergency response and community safety.
