Khyaal and Truecaller Team Up to Protect India’s Seniors from Scams
Khyaal is a neo bank for children to help take care of aging parents in India by offering live sessions, on-demand assistance, secure payments, jobs and more.
Khyaal, the Indian startup dedicated to elder care, just announced a new partnership with Truecaller to help shield senior citizens from the rising tide of phone scams. Founded by Hemanshu Jain and Pritishi Nelleri, Khyaal will offer all its members 50% off Truecaller Premium, giving them access to enhanced caller ID and spam protection tools—features that have become increasingly vital for older adults navigating today’s digital landscape.
Founded with a mission to create a more dignified, independent, and safe life for seniors, Khyaal already provides a wide range of wellness, tech support, and community services. This new collaboration expands that mission into the realm of digital safety, addressing one of the fastest-growing threats facing older populations: fraud.
Tackling the Scam Epidemic—One Workshop at a Time
The partnership goes beyond discounted subscriptions. Khyaal and Truecaller will also co-develop educational resources tailored to seniors. These include a series of “New Scam Highlights” sessions that decode evolving fraud tactics, as well as interactive “Spot the Scam” workshops and contests designed to improve scam detection in a fun, engaging way.
The initiative responds to a concerning trend: elderly citizens in India are increasingly being targeted by sophisticated phone and SMS scams. By combining Truecaller’s technical expertise with Khyaal’s deep community engagement, the partnership offers a multi-pronged approach to digital literacy and safety.
As scams evolve, so too must the tools and education we provide. With this collaboration, Khyaal isn’t just helping seniors stay connected—it’s helping them stay protected.
